wayfinding system
As a project tasked to us in school of creating a wayfinding system, I naturally chose to create one for the new Lego Star Wars: Skywalker Sage game.
This presented a unique challenge in that it was already a truly digital space, so I had to put myself in the mind of the user and think how they would be interacting with the game and the wayfinding system itself.
final design
These images show points in which the user would find the wayfinding system. The first image illustrates what the Point C would look like. It shows the ending point that the gamer would arrive at, signaling they have made it to Darth Vader, the bathroom, the docking station, etc.
The image above signals Point A, the map. This is present when initially entering the Death Star. Icons are split up between blue and red, light and dark side respectively.
Point B is shown through the lightsaber pointing in either direction on the image on the right. In order to know where to head, the user would go up to the lightsabers and press a button on their controlling, letting the wayfinding system “talk” as illustrated in the image.
